He only pretends to have a obsession with it because it defines his identity on the forums and in-game. It allows him to act like he is someone important, while he is only really noteworthy because of the time and money he invests in playing eve. Presumably he chose veldspar as part of some long-forgotten (or modified) meme.

This post is made of fail. Chribba is one of the most contributing members of EVE. He provides many in ande out of game services (all legal of course).
Massively even did an article/interivew about him which is found here
Oh sorry. When (if) I make contributions to the community I don't then go on to use these contributions as an excuse to make threads demanding in-game benefits.

The people don't seem to mind. And do you have any idea how boring mining in a Titan would be? So I don't see anything wrong with it.
I don't really care if he's asking for a free noobship to be spawned for him. This doesn't change the ethics of it. He is asking for special treatment in return for his 'kind contributions' to the community. Therefore, they aren't 'kind contributions', they are bribes/payments.
